A high-impact small-group, center-station, and intervention resource designed to help students master the CVCe (final / silent e) phonics pattern. This learning mat explicitly teaches the rule that final, silent e makes the vowel before it say its long sound (or “say its name”), supporting strong decoding and spelling foundations.

Using color-coded sound boxes, students isolate and map individual phonemes, strengthening letter–sound relationships and phonemic awareness. Learners then blend, build, read, and write CVCe words, reinforcing accurate decoding, encoding, and early reading fluency.
