Overview

Are you a fan of our popular sound box learning mats?  Try our new ‘Vowel Teams’ mat, perfect for practicing vowel team spelling patterns and long vowel sounds!  Four versions are available, flexible and adaptable to complement your phonics lessons.  Students will map words by connecting the speech sounds (phonemes).  Learning mats without picture cards may be used for dictation activities.  Enjoy our Vowel Teams mat with picture cards for a center station or independent activity.  Students will select a card, placing it face up on the ‘Picture Card’ mat.  Next, say the word out loud, isolate each sound, and spell it on the mat.  Laminate and use whiteboard pens for repeated use; or, use alphabet letter tiles!  Mats available with or without dashed line to represent vowel teams making one sound (phoneme).

When two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking…the second one says nothing!  Great for literacy centers, reading intervention, spelling/orthographic mapping, assessment, and after-school expanded learning.  Bundle pack coming soon!
