A high-impact small-group, center-station, and intervention resource designed to help students master CCVC words with beginning consonant blends (e.g., stop, clap, frog). This learning mat explicitly teaches students how to blend two consonants together at the beginning of a word while maintaining each individual sound, supporting accurate decoding and spelling development.

Using color-coded sound boxes, students isolate and map each phoneme, including the blended consonant sounds, strengthening phonemic awareness and letter–sound relationships. Learners then blend, build, read, and write CCVC words, reinforcing automaticity with blends and improving overall reading fluency.
